About

I’m at that stage of life where I’m moving from “cynical” to “grumpy”. To be honest, I’m not really bothered. Nobody has ever confused me with a ray of sunshine and if the rest of the world wants to be unreasonably happy it’s no concern of mine.

In a career arc that peaked many years ago I’ve been a poultry farmer, salesman, antiques dealer and gardener. Riches have eluded me but I’ve been happy in my various jobs, been self-employed for the last 22 years and had plenty of time to spend with my kids while they were growing up.

Now I’m working on a Community Care Farm  with a mix of responsibilities, including gardening, answering the phone, baking, making chutney, composting and cleaning the toilets. Let’s be honest. I’m not in it for the glamour.

This is “the other blog”, the one I don’t need to worry about what I say reflecting on work.

If you want to see what we get up to please feel free to visit at http://www.quercuscommunity.com

As long as I don’t tell anyone on the other blog about this one we should manage to keep the two apart.

  1. Oops – too late now. You’ve pointed to this from that by mentioning your rant on rugby. The end is nigh. I imagine a significant 20+ % of your quercuscommunity following are rabid rugby realists. Realizing a rare rugby reference will stir them to action and your secret will be in the wind. A scrum indeed. I see the wordpress stats counter spinning as I type. Oh well, you’ve had a good run 🙂
